Calculation rules & scope

Gregorian dates from 1901–2099. Year pillars change at the exact Start of Spring term; month pillars at the monthly Jie terms. Deeper readings use simplified annual-stem, day-master, annual-to-natal branch, and corresponding paired-branch rules, without luck cycles or favorable-element analysis. Element counts describe visible characters only, not element strength or favorable elements.

Unknown time: no hour pillar is calculated. If the date crosses a solar-term or day boundary, uncertain pillars show alternatives. Complete birth times are needed for deeper readings.
